Taken from Sonda's cell phone |
It was an email back in August of 2010, "good morning! I was perusing your lovely website and fell in love with a FEW dresses :) I especially like the free flowing halter dress....". I responded with the prices of the gowns
but......
"Thank you for your feedback, Cassandra.
Boy I can dream, can't I?!!! I know your dress is worth every bit of money, too. But I am on such a fixed income it is ridiculous :)
I thank you again for getting back to me with this information.
Continue making beautiful dresses for us!!!!!"
It could have ended there, I asked what was the budget. Some of my dresses were on sale. She loved the Halter Top with the ballgown skirt, which was within her budget. The measurements were close to the sample size, we had a deal. The gown needed some adjustments, which was to sew a ribbon on the back so she could adjust the size, very easy.
We emailed periodically and I may have talked to Sonda twice, she was so calm and each email may have begun with "My dear......" or something to that effect. I have to say it was surreal. I usually see my brides 4 or 5 times and we have many many many...... conversations over the dress construction period. Sonda was cool, calm, collected. Below a photo of her on Halloween 2010.

The time came when I would be sending the dress (a few weeks ago). After it was boxed, insured and sent, I held my breath. Would she still like the dress she fell in love with in an email.
Her last email came with the photo at the top, read , "Me...ecstatic!".
Wow I can breath again. I can't wait for the actual wedding in June.
