Beautiful Work Of God

Munaluchi the name of  a new bridal magazine that highlights the beauty and culture of the African Diaspora, is a combination to two names when combined means Beautiful Work of God.  The bridal market has had beautiful images of weddings but lacks a bit of color and cultures for people of color.  Munaluchi picks up that slack.  Here editor and chief,  Jackie Nwobu, in an interview on Positively Black.

A Celebraion of African American Weddings

Stats say the numbers  for marriage are so low that if you had to think about it, you would not jump that broom at all.  Marriage is declining and for African Americans it doesn't even exist.  But that is not really the truth, couples are still finding love and even of my own family and friends, their relationships have lasted 10, 20, and even over 50 years.  Coupling works and I am glad author Kea Taylor believes in it as well.
Ms. Taylor is a photographer and has documented celebrations for 10 years and counting.  She is the founder of Imagine Photography, her client list include BET, DC Chamber of Commerce, and a growing list of prominent admirers.  With that under her belt she has created the coffee table book called I Still Do: A Celebration Of African American Weddings, filled with Ms. Taylors favorites and the voices of the couples themselves.  This book will inspire, transcend, ignite, astound, and encourage what we know and don't know about Black love. See Kea on Fox News and enjoy pictures from the DC Launch Party.

The Book Store Is Open Now!

I have been wanting a bookstore for a very long time. The dream was to offer bridal and wedding books that help you plan, all located in one cool location. In addition to great titles, I also wanted to serve the best coffee and tea, in fabulous cups and play only the coolest music. If any of you have visited the studio, you know I play only jazz radio (WBGO) or some other world music, movie soundtrack etc. The shop is going to be attached to the fabulous boutique bridal shop housing creative gowns, accessories, and more. This vision is still strong and clear.

Now, if you know anything about commercial space in New York, it is high which makes finding a space in the right location at the right price difficult. So, I am not giving up my dream and as I move towards my complete vision I ,in a way, figured out how to have A Bookstore.

Visit Wacky World Of Wedding Traditions, scroll down the right side of blog for titles or link to labels Books Music Products. Feel free to browse at this location, there will be no annoying sales person keeping an eye on you and I will be posting books, music and products that I believe will enhance your wedding.

So I may not be able to serve you in a cool cup of something, but you can pick up books at a great prices (you know Amazon, some books are under $1.00).
