DIY: Wedding Flowers

For the Natural Bride 2010 photo shoot, our budget was tight.  We wanted bouquets to complete our looks but money was tight Our creative project manager, Kalalea went to a corner floral/deli and created the bouquets from the flowers she chose.  He put rubber bands around them and boom we had 4 beautiful bouquets for $80.  I think the only thing we needed were some ribbon for the stems (we made do). Check out this Daily Candy Video, How to Arrange Flowers Cheap, tips from Floristy's Katsuya Nishimori.

A Green Wedding Tip From Twitter

Ashley's Bride Guide, talked to A Delightful Day, and got this tip about left over floral arrangements.

Does your company do anything special that a green bride might want to know?
For our brides, a lot of times we will contact a local hospice company that will take their wedding day florals and rearrange them to take them to hospice patients and nursing homes for them to enjoy for the rest of their floral life! Many brides wonder what will happen to those florals, and I think that that becomes an area of waste, so this in turn allows for someone else to have a little cheer from their wedding for several days following!

This idea is not only green, it is a golden opportunity to do good.

D.A. M. Pretty

One day as I was walking down the street in the Fort Greene, Brooklyn. I saw these ladies setting up a tent on the sidewalk. They were preparing their flowers to sell. One of the buckets were fill with bright blue roses. I could hardly believe that they were real. So I touched one and yes they were real!

Now I look at the other buckets and they are all filled with the freshest and the most beautiful and unique flowers. It was such a sunny day and the colors of the flowers made the day even more amazing. So as I lingered I wanted to who were these ladies and what is this sidewalk floral shop. D.A.M. Pretty is the name of this company and I would say Dam Right!

D.A.M. Pretty, Dingle, Addison, and Mayo have been friends for 20 years and have shared the same love of beautiful things. So they formed a company that to sell housewarming gifts to cool people. That means you. The bigger plan is to open a shop in Brooklyn this fall. Need something now, don't hesitate to and discuss with Dingle, Addison, and Mayo your fabulous event. These ladies are looking to create something special just for you.
