Matrimonial Money Matters

"It's the most wonderful time of the year", makes you want to scream "Shut up Johnnie, Shut up, please make it stop". This year you've got the added bonus of layoffs, loss of holiday bonuses, and you are planning your wedding. Which means checking your list to see who has been naughty or nice. These are tough times.
Although there are dark and sad financial predictions for the future, this is a great opportunity to take hold of your finances, make some smart money decisions as an individual and as a couple. Couples talk, fight, or break up over money more than any other subject. Without even prying into your partners bank account try being observant. How do they shop? Do they spend more to impress? How many credit cards do they have? List shopper or is it all in their head? If you like or don't like the answers the best thing to do is sit down, have a conversation and make a great financial plan. What's even better to do is sit with a financial planner who will look at the big picture and help you make decisions that create a bright future instead of holding onto the fear of a cent less future.
