Roman Holiday In Harlem

Cecelia came to me and her idea was to pick up the style and romance of the 40’s. The movie Roman Holiday came to my mind. He, Brian Dunn, and she would take their vows at St. Charles Barromeo (pictured above). Very few guests and a very nice dinner a favorite restaurant. Well the guest list did grow but the couple still kept it intimate.

Her dress which had a nostalgic feeling of the 40’s was made of a re-embroidered lace had a neckline that was high in the back to a sweetheart neckline in front. What appeared to be a strapless dress under the lace overlay was made of 4ply silk. With the silk lining it feels real good on the skin. Her fabulous shoes completed the look.
The Monsignor Wallace Harris married the couple July 18th, 2005 and after pictures they whisked away in a black Jag (my favorite part), to their favorite Italian restaurant, Da Ciros. They honeymooned in Barbados and St Lucia for some RRR, rest, relaxation, and of course romance.

Using Adinkra Symbols For Your Wedding

Above Photo by Macintosh Smith

For Djanna and Nic's wedding,

Heavenly Crumbs created these

delicious cupcakes with an

edible cowrie shell and

the Adinkra Symbol, Bese Saka,

in gold. The symbol is nestled in the icing

of the cupcake.

They also used this symbol on their invitations

and in the program. This completed

their Afrocentric theme.

BESE SAKA

" sack of cola nuts"

Which is a symbol of

affluence, power, abundance,

plenty, togetherness and unity.

The cola nut played an important

role in the economic life of Ghana.

A widely-used cash crop,

it is closely associated with

affluence and abundance.

This symbol also represents the

role of agriculture and trade

in bringing peoples together.
