I have found some creative toppers (and so has African Bride).  The search has led us to some very creative designers.  However, I don't want to leave the traditionalist out in the cold.
This lovely porcelain couple is from Ebony Enchantment, creates this fairytale like couple. Perfect for weddings filled with love and the price is perfect just under $30.00.

A Celebraion of African American Weddings

Stats say the numbers  for marriage are so low that if you had to think about it, you would not jump that broom at all.  Marriage is declining and for African Americans it doesn't even exist.  But that is not really the truth, couples are still finding love and even of my own family and friends, their relationships have lasted 10, 20, and even over 50 years.  Coupling works and I am glad author Kea Taylor believes in it as well.
Ms. Taylor is a photographer and has documented celebrations for 10 years and counting.  She is the founder of Imagine Photography, her client list include BET, DC Chamber of Commerce, and a growing list of prominent admirers.  With that under her belt she has created the coffee table book called I Still Do: A Celebration Of African American Weddings, filled with Ms. Taylors favorites and the voices of the couples themselves.  This book will inspire, transcend, ignite, astound, and encourage what we know and don't know about Black love. See Kea on Fox News and enjoy pictures from the DC Launch Party.

Ndebele Bridal Cake Toppers

The beautiful dolls are hand beaded by the South African Ndebele.   Read more about the designers, Sizakele Creations

Swahili African Modern

In Ndebele culture, a young woman cannot marry unless her groom presents her family with labola, a dowrie typically comprised of an agreed-upon number of cattle. On her wedding day, an Ndebele bride wears a beautiful beaded train called an inyoka. Upon her marriage, she wears an elaborate beaded apron and wraps her shoulders in a blanket to signify her status as a married woman.

Swahili African Modern

The handcrafted Ndebele groom is dressed in modern finery for his wedding day. He has paid his labola, or dowry, and now awaits his beautiful bride.

Square Coverage

Tea Yellow 26" Square

A sunny day for most out door weddings may seem beautiful, but if the wedding is at  high noon and the thermostat is still climbing at 90 degrees, someone may pass out.  Adding a little shade is the order of the day.
This stylish square umbrella is from Luna Bazaar.  Not only do they boast a wide selection of paper umbrellas, but they have so much more which includes paper lanterns, fans and more.  The colors and patterns will make your culturally chic wedding perfect.

HA HA HA HA HA

I think this is HILARIOUS.  I found this on Bride Tide and just had to pass it onto my readers.  Although this type of invitation is not for everyone, you can be inspired by their personality and humor, which is front and center.

Sterling Bridesmaids Gifts

Spending out of control which means you still don't have your bridesmaids gifts and you have  only $20.00 to spend for each girl.  Well I found something quite lovely, the Tiny Text Sterling Silver Initial Necklace by Nina Jackson.  A gift like this is personal, chic and depending on the style of the wedding the maids can wear the necklaces on the wedding day.   Your friends will love the personal touch.

Nipple Covers

That's right I said it NIPPLE COVERS.  I said it out loud NIPPLE COVERS.  The more I say it, then you think "I need NIPPLE COVERS".

Gowns like the on above are created in a silk charmeuse, which is a soft, lightweight fabric, that can show every bump, curve and that includes NIPPLES.  Sexy in the bedroom but at a wedding reception with family and friends, would be too much information.  Which brings me to YOU NEED NIPPLE COVERS

Introducing Nippies Skin™, now made with our exclusive soft and flexible Invisifeel™ silicone technology for an even more skin-like experience! Refined ultra-thin edges blend seamlessly into skin. The matte "paparazzi proof" finish won't reflect light through clothing. Perfect under summer's blush-toned clothing and sheers!
