Lashing Out

I was just watching Martha Stewart Wedding Special with several experts including Ja'maal Buster, celebrity eyelash guru. He is a master at matching the right lash and face., but if you venture to do your own make up for the big day, false eyelashes may be a bit ambitious. How ever Ja'maal has a fantastic tool that helps. It's called The Lash Placement Tool. The demonstration on Martha Stewart was petty 1 2 3. With this tool at least the lashes don't end up on your cheek.

Photo Shop

I love looking at old photo's. It doesn't really matter if I know the people or not. When a great photographer has captured a moment that makes me say WOW. It is the kind of photo that can make you hear the voices and music, there is a momentum that can fill one still photo.
There are wedding photo's where everyone stands still and smiles. The photo is perfectly staged Yawnnnnnnnn. Then there are wedding photo's so beautiful. The photographer has captured a very special moment. The tear on a mom's face, the look on the grooms face when he sees his bride, or a photo of the special details you worked so hard on. The photographer who's eyes are open and the lens are always pointed in the right direction. Memories of the event will be captured forever.
This is why I am going to post a WOW photographer. I have found many across the web and so why not spread the good news. So keep checking the posts titled Photo Shop, with a WOW photographer I hope you will love too.

PS: Also look in the section for Wedding Photography and Engagement Photos.

Stick It To Them

Now for a wacky idea that is really functional. Duct Tape Favor The Duct Tape Wedding favor, this is something your guest can actually use, there are tons of websites including, The Duct Tape Guys that have ideas for Duct tape use. Well I thought of one more. A wedding favor, it's cheap and useful. If you go to the right Dollar Store you can pick up most rolls for at least, hmmm.... $1.00! Or you could order it from Jam Paper. Have personalized sticker made that says "We're Stuck On Each Other" (oh, come on that works) be sure it includes your wedding date.

Let me know what you think, better yet tell me your creative, unusual, kooky, out of the box, idea for a wedding favor.

Judging Beauty On the Curve

Let me ask you a question, are you completely happy, over the moon, confident, and in love with every inch of your body? All the bumps, rolls, and delicious curve of your anatomy. If yes or no you must see The Mozaik Curve Project. This inspiring project turns the light on positive body image of curvy women.

99.99999% of the woman I create gowns for are all concerned about their bumps, rolls, and girth. Of course we all are concerned about a healthy body image, but a wedding can make us caraaaaaazy with analyzing what we actually look like. All brides end up looking so beautiful on their wedding day but the time taken to agonize about size is not good.
One of the blogs I visit (Bodacious Blog), wrote a simple post. I followed the link and wanted to share this with you. It is fabulous, visit the site (there is a fair amount of partial nudity) and create a positive, healthy, love of yourself and your body. Remember he asked you to marry him with every delicious curve of your body.

The Vegan Bride: The First Fitting

Our first fitting went well. I use a muslin fabric to make any corrections. It's great because I can mark on it and pin it and I don't worry about damaging the dress fabric. For the first fitting I wanted to get the bodice right, I only fit the bodice this time. The bodice of the dress is like a bra top attached to a waist band, which is made very tight.

See what the dress will look kind of, similar, not exactly, but a little, look like here.

1, 2, 3, Per Guest

I recently met Betsy Thorleifson at a bridal show and her sample mini cupcakes wowed met. There were plenty of other bake companies to choose from. EVERYBODY who made a cake, made mini cupcakes. Plus they put them all in the same location which made it additionally hard to differentiate one from the other. But Betsy from Nine Cakes was a Giant in the mini cupcake war.
I needed to bring a dessert for an event and this fit the bill. The taste was outstanding, the price was right 1 dozen for $15.00, and she was polite and sweet. I made my order over the phone (2 days before the event), she sent an invoice online and delivered the cupcakes perfectly on time. Everyone enjoyed the cupcakes, which is why I say 1, 2, 3 per guest, they were delicious.
Nine Cakes has
several flavors to choose from, just view the menu. Even though I am raving about the cupcakes, Nine Cakes repertoire is much more extensive. It includes cookies, tarts, layered cakes, pies and more.
Your dessert table just got a lot sweeter.

Perfectly Plated

When Jessica was getting married she found gifts from an industry that didn't match her aesthetic. She made it her business to set the perfect table.

As a graduate of the prestigious Parson School of Design, tabletop designer, Jessica Rust designed a great selection of high-end porcelain plates, mugs, and platters that are sure to be treasured for many years to come. Some of her favorite bridal picks from the collection, the Your Home dinnerware is a great option (where family/friends can submit photos of the newlywed's home to be immortalized artistically), to the Love Bug platter {with names of the couple and wedding date), which balance style and luxury perfectly. The Family Tree collection is a great way to commemorate the two families coming together and the Birch Mugs are a perfect balance of whimsy and sophistication.
Best of all Jessica Rust Designs plates are dishwasher and microwave safe. Now there is no excuse for everyone to do the dishes.
